Opera & Safari |
Our Rating: Opera:
Safari: |
Safari
Safari is the main browser that comes with Mac and is pretty much their standard. Recent versions of Safari
have made good improvements and now have every standard feature that the top browsers have. If you own a Mac,
you most likely use Safari.
Opera
Opera is just for those people that have to be different. Opera is a not a bad browser, but has some support
issues. Even though Opera is supported on Windows, practically no one who has Windows uses it. Opera is however
an award winning web browser and it claims to be the coolest and most secure way to surf the net. Some people
just love the Opera browser and have an undying attachment to it. Maybe you can be one of them?
Pros
-They work quite well with Mac and will probably stay that way
-Fairly good security, not much attacks a Mac though
-Opera has Session Restore
-Opera & Safari are good at popup blocking
Cons
-Safari is a Mac Browser
-Opera limits most third-party extensions or tools
-These browsers have limited support for the newer website technologies
Final Thoughts
They both have good security and nice features, but there isn't anything that is really special about either of
these. If you have a Mac, you will be using Safari, Opera, or Firefox. Firefox would be our recommendation, but
none of these are bad choice.
You can get Opera at Opera.com. Safari comes with Mac computers.
