Netscape Navigator used to be the top web browser. But then Microsoft came out with the new, free, Internet Explorer. IE was just a better browser and it quickly decimated all of its competition. In recent years Netscape has made a bit of a comeback. It has become a much better browser than it was and it offers many useful features. It is a solid website browser now and has pretty good security. It's pop-up blocking features are adequate.

Pros

-Nice looking browser that has the usual features
-Pretty good security

Cons

-Nothing too special about Netscape these days. Can get all features, but usually better, with IE of Firefox.
-Only an adequate pop-up blocker and most toolbars do not work with Netscape.

Final Thoughts

Netscape was once considered the best when the internet was still young, but after it's glory stomping at the hands of Internet Explorer, it never was the same. Recently it has made a small comeback, but it is likely that it will not make much progress, in terms use widespread use, at any point in the near future.
